Founded in 1993, the San Francisco non-profit organization Other Minds, under the leadership of its founding Artistic Director Charles Amirkhanian, has combed the globe in search of the most revolutionary composers to share their work in San Francisco. To date Other Minds has presented 20 festivals of new music and countless more concerts., film events, exhibitions, and panels exposing the incredible wide gamut of musical possibilities not documented by mainstream musical outlets. In celebrations of its landmark 20th festival event in March of 2015, Other Minds invited back 10 artists who had appeared previously for the first time to reprise the experience. This limited edition DVD documents the history of the organization leading up to its 20th festival including interviews with the artists and patron and co-founder Jim Newman.
