Robert Hughes - Anagnorisis

Robert Hughes, composer and author, is a graduate of the University of Buffalo (now SUNY Buffalo) and composition student of Aaron Copland, Carlos, Chavez, Luigi Dallapiccola, and Lou Harrison. He has written for symphony orchestra, chamber ensemble, voices, performance art events and a wide variety of media, including twenty film scores and a large body of electronic music. His compositions include commissions from the San Francisco Symphony, Cabrillo Music Festival, Oakland Symphony, Arch Ensemble for Experimental Music, Department of the Interior, Houghton-Mifflin, and Walt Disney.

for flute and cello. Originally issued as 1750 Arch Records S1760 and remastered.

5. Caccia
for two pianos

6. Estampie
for full orchestra, conducted by Jonathan Kuhner.

7-11. Anagnorsis
for trombone (doubling garden hose), percussion and (optional) dancer, with the composer on percussion.

12-16. Four Changes
for koto, two flutes (2nd doubling alto), and two French horns.

17. Music for the Cincinnati Center
for harp and percussion.

18-20. Trio for Mexican Clay Flute
for Mexican clay flute, five coffee cans, Jhalaturanga, with the composer on clay flute.

21-24. Music for Geraldine
for bass clarinet, contrabassoon and four gongs, with the composer on contrabassoon.

25-26. Against Nature
for 4 piri (Korean oboe) tracks and the Prophet 10 synthesizer, with the composer on piri and Prophet 10.
